Assign Placements button

Purpose: Go to the Assign Placement page.

Note: If you are missing geometry, there will be a “Missing Geometry” note in red.

Assign Placement page

Filter button

Purpose: Open the filter section on the Assign Placement page.

Show Placements section

Purpose: Select what type of filter you want to work with.

 

There are five different types of filters:

1. Normal: Only shows geometries that are assigned to the current report.

2. Created by [username]: Shows all geometries that were created by the user.

3. Edited by [username]: Shows all geometries that were edited by the user.

4. No Filter: Shows all geometries.

5. Expanded Filter: Gives you access to the expanded filter to customize your search.

  • Filter drop-down: Select to see all the filters; deselect to hide all the filters.
  • Auto Zoom to Filtered Yes/No buttons: If you have it set to Yes, it will automatically zoom to any filtered reports; if you have it set to No, it will not automatically zoom to any filtered reports.
  • Feature ID Filter: Search function for the report ID.
  • Date Filter button: Open the Date Filter pop-up.
    • Unfilter button: Unfilter (reset) any date filters that have been applied.
    • Date Field: Select what date field you are filtering by.
    • Days section: Filter by a set number of days.
      • Number of Days or Year drop-down: Select what days or year you want to see.
      • Sort Order: Select Newest First or Oldest First.
    • Date section: Set a date range.
      • Start Date selector: Select the start date for your query.
      • End Date selector: Select the end date for your query.
    • Cancel button: Cancel the filter that you are in and exit the pop-up.
    • Apply button: Apply your filter to the map.
  • Pay Item Filter button: Open the Pay Item Filter pop-up.
    • Unfilter button: Unfilter (reset) any selected pay item filters that have been applied.
    • Pay Item Search Bar: Search for a specific pay item.
    • Pay Item Selector section: Select or deselect pay items or Unfiltered, No Pay Item, or Has Pay Item.
    • Cancel button: Cancel the filter that you are in and exit the pop-up.
    • Accept button: Apply your filter to the map.
  • Tag Category Filter button: Select tag categories.
    • Unfilter button: Unfilter (reset) any selected tag category filters that have been applied.
    • Tag Category Search Bar: Search for a specific tag category.
    • Tag Category Selector section: Select or deselect tag categories or Unfilter.
    • Cancel button: Cancel the filter that you are in and exit the pop-up.
  • Tag Filters button: Select tags.
    • Unfilter button: Unfilter (reset) any selected tag filters that have been applied.
    • Tags Search Bar: Search for a specific tag.
    • Tags Selector section: Select or deselect tags or Unfilter.
    • Cancel button: Cancel the filter that you are in and exit the pop-up.
  • Inspector Filter button: Select inspectors.
    • Unfilter button: Unfilter (reset) any selected inspectors that have been applied.
    • Inspectors Search Bar: Search for a specific inspector.
    • Inspectors Selector section: Select or deselect inspectors or Unfilter.
    • Cancel button: Cancel the filter that you are in and exit the pop-up.
  • Inspector Field drop-down: Select how the Inspector Filter will be applied. 
    • Created/Last Edited/Assigned: If the inspector was the one that created, last edited, or was assigned to a report, that report will show.
    • Created/Last Edited: If the inspector was the one that created or last edited a report, that report will show.
    • Created: If the inspector was the one that created a report, that report will show.
    • Last Edited: If the inspector was the one that last edited a report, that report will show.
    • Assigned: If the inspector was assigned to a report, that report will show.
  • Placement Type Filter button: Select the placement type.
    • Unfilter button: Unfilter (reset) any selected placement types that have been applied.
    • Placement Type Search Bar: Search for a specific placement type. 
    • Placement Type Selector section: Select or deselect placement types or Unfilter.
    • Cancel button: Cancel the filter that you are in and exit the pop-up.
  • Layers drop-down: Select/deselect layers that will appear on the map.

Map buttons

  • Center button: Go to your geographic location based on your device’s GPS.
  • Station, Offset, and Alignment selector (activates when you click on a location on the map): Show the location of the selected point via the Station and Offset boxes and the Select Alignment drop-down.
  • Select Alignment drop-down: Select an alignment to either lock or show the alignment. 
    • Lock selector: Lock the selected alignment to your report so that the alignment will not change based on your geometry.
    • Show button: Show the selected alignment extents using purple diamonds.
  • Select button: Select the closest alignment to the black crosshair in the middle of your screen and assign it to the Select Alignment drop-down.
  • Black Crosshair (locked in the center of the map): Use as a point of reference. Always used with the Select button.

Note: The information on the bottom left (Station and Offset) will change based on where the black crosshair is.

  • Close Map button: Go back to the report page without saving any of the work you did in the Assign Placement page.
  • Add Lot button: Open the Define Lot pop-up, which will allow you to generate your geometry using one of three methods:
    • Sketch: Select points by clicking on the map to outline the area you are working on.
      • Undo and Redo buttons: Undo or redo the last change you made to the outlined geometry by selecting the appropriate button during the sketching process.
      • Arrows: Move any selected point in your outlined geometry by 1 foot in the cardinal direction by selecting the appropriate arrow. The arrow buttons will appear on the bottom right side of your screen.
      • Point Selection Function: Select any point on the outlined geometry during the creation process to be able to maneuver that point. 
      • Cancel button: Cancel the sketch you are working on. 
      • Finish button: Finalize the sketch you are working on and go to the Randomize Test Points/Accept Test Points page.

Note: If you do not select the points in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, an error will occur.

    • Text Entry: A pop-up will appear where you can enter the Station and Offset of up to four points to generate the geometry.
    • Import: If you want to use this option, contact your CIMS Lead.

 

The following buttons appear after you create your placement:

  • Add Joint button: Add a joint to your selected placement through one of three methods:
    • Sketch: Sketch the joint on your placement.
    • Text Entry: Create your joint by entering the station and offset for the beginning and end of your joint.
    • Import: Create your joint by importing a CSV with the station and offset for the beginning and end of your joint.
  • Add Test button: Add test points to your geometries in one of three ways (which will be available in a pop-up window):
    • Add Random Test: Add a completely new random test point on the selected geometry.
    • Add Manual Test: Manually select a point on your selected geometry where you want a test set to go.
    • Add Manual Random Test: Add a new test point via random numbers (which will be available in a pop-up window):
      • Alignment: Select an alignment that you want a new test point to be connected to.
      • Stationing Random Test box: Enter your random number for stationing.
      • Offset Random box: Enter your random number for your offset.
      • Cancel button: Cancel the Add Manual Random Numbers pop-up window without saving.
      • Accept button: Accept all the random numbers you entered and generate the new random test location.
  • Delete button: Delete any selected placement.
  • Resize button: Open the Resize Geometry pop-up, which will give you one of two ways to resize your geometry, as well as a way to export geometry information:
    • Sketch: Select points by clicking on the map to outline the area you are working on. 
      • Undo and Redo buttons: Undo or redo the last change you made to the outlined geometry by selecting the appropriate button during the sketching process.
      • Arrows: Move any selected point in your outlined geometry by 1 foot in the cardinal direction by selecting the appropriate arrow. The arrow buttons will appear on the bottom right side of your screen.

    • Export: Generate additional information about the geometry that you created via an email and a ZIP folder.

Randomize Test Points/Accept Test Points page

Purpose: Assign the test locations to your geometry.

  • Randomize Test Points button: Randomize the locations of your test points within your geometry.
  • Accept Test Points button: Accept and finalize the test point locations within your geometry.
  • Discard Changes button: Exit the Randomize Test Points/Accept Test Points page without adding test locations to your geometry.
